It took the Manchester United board more than one week interviewing various candidates for the interim manager role after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's sacking.

63 years old Ralf Rangnick was then appointed as the interim manager who will be in charge till the end of the season, with his first game in management set to be over the weekend against Crystal Palace.

According to reliable sources close to Manchester United, director of football John Murtough took his time today to take Ralf Rangnick around Old Trafford and Carrington training complex.

The reports claim that Ralf Rangnick wanted to familiarise himself with his new environment ahead of his time to become the manager of Manchester United.

The Manchester United board, players and fans are hoping that Ralf Rangnick will improve the team in the period he will be in charge because he is a highly rated manager.
