Manchester United are reportedly set to confirm Erik ten Hag as their next manager according to Manchester Evening News. Old Trafford chiefs have unanimously agreed that the Ajax boss is the right man to lead the club from next season. Erik Ten Hag side Ajax is leading the Netherland's Eredivisie table after successful winnings in the league. Man United sacked their former manager Ole Gunnar Solkjaer after a series of poor performance and need to make a permanent replacement for the club legend.
They claim that he has beaten off competition from Mauricio Pochettino, Julen Lopetegui and Luis Enrique. And they add that Meulensteen, 58, is under consideration to be appointed his assistant.
Erik Ten Hag will make Ruben Neves one of his No1 transfer targets if he is appointed Manchester United boss. The Red Devils have tried to sign the Wolves midfielder in the last two windows with the midlands club holding firm so far.
Ten Hag moved to Ajax from Utrecht in 2017 and led them to the Champions League semi-final in 2019. He has also lifted the Eredivisie twice as well as the KNVB Cup two times.
Man United are yet to make any kind of announcement as to whether Ten Hag will manage the Red Devils next season, let alone confirm the date he will be presented as the new boss. But as Ten Hag cannot take the reins until the end of the season, it has been reported that Manchester United will hold off making an official announcement until then.
