A Kenyan who worked as a security guard in Qatar died after suffering severe injuries following a reported fall at one of stadiums hosting the ongoing World Cup matches.
John Njau Kibe died while receiving treatment after he allegedly tumbled from the 8th floor of Lusail Stadium. Kibue is said to have been unconscious since the day the incident took place.
The deceased’s sister Ann Wanjiru, said that his employer informed the family about the incident, but did not explain what happened. She further stated that a formal communication has not been made to them.
Wanjiru disclosed that the deceased talked with her upto the last minute before he went to change the shift.
Kibe's family now says that they are seeking closure on the details of his untimely death.
Family members said they don’t have the money to get justice for their kin, but they want to know what happened.
The Kenyan embassy in Qatar confirmed the incident and stated that it has taken up the matter.
