On December 8 2022, news made headlines after Kenyan born star and football veteran Victor Wanyama announced his return to Harambee Stars, about one year after he announced his retirement from international soccer.
The great news was later confirmed and announced by Cabinet Secretary (CS) in charge of Youth Affairs, Sports and Arts Hon Ababu Namwamba.

Upon his return, netizens across various social media platforms started to research on the amount of money Mr Wanyama earns by playing for his current club.
According to a verifiable source, it has been reported that the former Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur star who currently plays for Major League Soccer (MLS) club, CF Montréal, earns an annual salary of Ksh266,640,000 ($2,400,000) and that roughly translates to Ksh 24 million a month.
To add icing on the cake, Mr Wanyama also pockets an annual guaranteed compensation that rises to Ksh373, 937,123 just for kicking the ball.
