Jesse Were on the Score Sheet for his Zambian Side Zesco United

Former Tusker FC striker scored his first goal of the season for his Zambian side Zesco United as they defeated Kabwe Warriors 2-0 in a Zambian Super League match.

However, Jesse Were's counterpart at Harambee Stars goalkeeper Ian Otieno was not present for the match. Ian last played in Harambee Stars first leg match against Mali that ended 5-0; he missed the return match played in Nairobi.

Jesse Were made a strong comeback after missing out on their 2-0 loss to Kafue Celtic alongside keeper Ian with the club revealing that the two players were serving punishment following an indiscipline case.

The match was goalless into the break with Zesco United taking the lead in the 54th minute thanks to Solomon Sakala.

Zambian defending champions, Zesco United sealed their win in the 73rd minute from Jesse Were who tapped in Edward Lungu's cross.

Zesco United recorded their 9th point after playing 4 matches with leaders Green Buffaloes at 16 points having played 2 matches extra.
