Chelsea: Scholes' Bitter Prediction, Chilwell's Resurgence, Positive Punditry From Neville

Paul Scholes

Paul Scholes recently claimed that the race for the 2021/2022 EPL Championship will be protagonised between two clubs, Liverpool and Manchester City. Scholes said that although Chelsea is doing significantly well in the league, they are bound to suffer in the latter stages of the season campaign. Scholes said that he had noted that Manchester City and Liverpool were more fierce and competitive than Chelsea and that is why in his opinion, Chelsea are not the title favorites.

He added that if Tuchel manages to trigger Lukaku’s form, then things will fall into place smoothly, but at the moment they are progressing up the league by sheer luck. Chelsea fans however disagreed with Scholes and promised him that Chelsea will be the eventual winners of the EPL.

Gary Neville

One pundit who disagreed with Scholes was former teammate Gary Neville who said that Chelsea’s resilience defensively is something that should be emulated by clubs that want to win the league. Neville added that Tuchel’s way of organizing his defense is second to none and that is why breaking down Chelsea has become a mountain task for opponents. He said that Chelsea’s strength lies in the defense because most of their goals are either created or scored by defenders and this, and the same defenders are also responsible for keeping back to back clean sheets

Neville finished by saying that Chelsea stands at the epitome of success this season and any club that will finish above Chelsea this season will definitely be title candidates for sure. He said that Tuchel is very hungry for the EPL trophy and therefore missing out on the trophy is not on his wish list.

Ben Chilwell

Ben Chilwell has now scored in three consecutive matches that he has played for both Chelsea and England and this greatly emphasizes his attribute as a potential goal threat. The 23-year-old is known for his instinctive attacking prowess although he is less receptive to his defensive duties. Going forward, fans expect that Thomas Tuchel will give him more playing time to increase his sharpness and experience both offensively and defensively.
