Premier League table-toppers Chelsea are going to tussle it out with a struggling Manchester United side this evening at Stamford Bridge. With Carrick temporarily in charge, an unlikely win for the Red Devils will lift their spirits and improve their chances of making it into the top four.
Even though both teams qualified for the knockout stages of the champions league this week, Thomas Tuchel’s men are clear favourites to win this encounter. The Blues are miles ahead of the Red Devils this season but Michael Carrick has good players that can turn around their poor form. It’s time for the players to pull up their socks and prove their critics wrong.
In their last 5 premier league matches, Chelsea have won 4 and drawn 1 whereas Manchester United have won 2, drawn 1 and lost 2. The last meeting between the 2 sides ended in a 0-0 draw. So, with that said, below are the confirmed starting lineups for both teams.
Chelsea: Mendy; Chalobah , Silva, Rudiger, James, Loftus Cheek, Jorginho, Alonso, Ziyech, Odoi, and Werner.
Manchester United: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Baily, Shaw, Mc Tominay, Fred, Matic, Fernandes, Sancho, and Rashford.
My prediction is 2-0 in favour of Chelsea. What is yours? Leave it in the comments section below.
