Omanyala celebrates with his family after winning the 100m commonwealth race

Commonwealth 100m champion Ferdinand Omanyala has returned to the country. He received a warm welcome at the airport after his triumph in Birmingham.

Omanyala clinched the gold medal in the commonwealth games. He finished ahead of his competitors in a closely contested race.

The sprinter is also the reigning African champion. He has established himself as a world class athlete in the past few years. He is ranked among the fastest sprinters in the world.

Ferdinand was received warmly by his family. He had a lunch meeting with his wife and two children where they celebrated his great achievement.

Omanyala has now set his sights on the 100 metre race world record. He is hoping to break the record which was set by Usain Bolt in 2012.

Kenyans congratulated Ferdinand Omanyala for his victory in the most recent race. They thanked him for representing the country well in the global event.
