The Greatest Marathoner of all time Eliud Kipchoge is today, expected to break his own World Record during the Berlin Marathon in Germany.
In the race that started nearly an hour ago, Kipchoge is already within the World Record range and is expected to run in less than his world record of 2:01.39 set in 2018
Through his halfway mark (21Km) Kip[choge was way above the world record mark with 0.59 minutes. The G.O.AT was way above the record by nearly a minute and if he keeps his pace, it is expected that he will smash his own record in less than an hour
His main competitor from Ethiopia Adola has already dropped from the leading pact.
Here are some starts in the first phases of the race; VERY quick 14:14 first 5km at the Berlin Marathon for Eliud Kipchoge. That's 2:00:06 pace (pacers were assigned 2:01:40 pace).
Guye Adola (2:03:46 PB) and Andamlak Belihu (58:54 half, 2:09:43) are the only ones brave (foolish?) enough to go with Kipchoge.
In 2019, Kipchoge set an unofficial time of 01:59:40.2 during Ineos Marathon in Viena Austria. It is expected that the goat will also try to overhaul that record today in Germany.
