According to football guru Fabrizio Romano, Darwin Nunez has disclosed to his agent that he does not intend to extend his stay at Benfica beyond this season and is open to a transfer in the summer. Nunez is reportedly favoring a move to the English Premier League where he believes he will get the exposure he needs to guarantee him more experience. A few weeks ago against Liverpool at Anfield, Nunez said that he fell in love with the atmosphere in England and it would be a dream come true if he secured a move to the Premier League.
Arsenal and Manchester United are currently the front runners in signing the marquee striker but Benfica will not easily release their striker. It is believed that they are planning to put a €60 Million price tag on the striker’s head and will not accept anything lower than that.
Arsenal have also their sights firmly set on Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen who has been in flying form this season. For the past couple of years now, Arsenal have been scouting the striker intently in the hope that they will some day manage to persuade him to join them. Manchester United on the other hand have recently signed up for the race for the 25 year old and are expected to go full throttle on him in the summer. Edu Gasper has been trying to get a hold of Osimhen’s striker for weeks now but he has been diverting Arsenal’s approaches on the striker.
It is not quite clear whether Arsenal’s failed attempts are deliberately being caused by Osimhen or if Arsenal themselves are not serious enough to sign the striker, but fans are growing more frustrated by the transfer news. Genuine interest in the player has been shown by Arteta but if things continue like this, Ten Hag might just seize the opportunity and sign him.
Thomas Partey will apparently not be available for tomorrow’s match after the medical team reported to Arteta that the Ghanaian is not ready for selection. With that said, there is a high chance that Elneny might start tomorrow’s match against Everton.
