The VAR yesternight corrected a goal that it had wrongly awarded to Christiano Ronaldo. The goal came from a Bruno Fernandes cross and Ronaldo made a dash for the ball with a header. From the initial image you can see it looks like Ronaldo got his head on the ball but no. It wasn't him.
Ronaldo went on and celebrated the goal like it was his before the VAR intercepted and awarded it to the rightful owner who was Bruno Fernandes. Either way, irregardless of the goal it was still beneficial to the team as it made them go away with all three point's.
Bruno Fernandes scored the second goal which was a penalty kick and made it 2:0. Christiano was already off the pitch at this time. He is the team's chief taker for the spot kick. Portugal have now advanced to the round of sixteen alongside France and Brazil.
