However, despite the score line, there is one key area that United showed much improvement thanks to a recent key transfer decision from Ole Gunner Solskjaer.
United's decision to bring in a set piece coach, Eric Ramsey, seems to be baring fruits. Ramsey was a set piece coach at Chelsea and United convinced him to join in a bid to improve the clubs output from set plays.
There was a telling improvement from United when it came to set pieces. Maguire scored a goal from a corner which shows that things will be quite different this coming season.
The Red Devils also defended superbly from set pieces throughout the game. Last season the team was very fragile when it came to defending corners and free kicks which ended up costing them valuable points.
The team also scored less goals from set pieces. Now with Ramsey in the coaching set up, expect more goals and good defending of set pieces.
Do you think this will prove to be a good decision from Solskjaer?
