Harambee Stars midfielder Amos Nondi clocked full 90 minutes to help his Georgian side Dira Gori beat Telavi 2.1 to go on top of the league table.Nondi and his teammates are now 18 points ,two points ahead of Dinamo Batumi who have one game less.The Kenyan has been a mainstay in the team since joining them in 2018 from Kolkhet Poti.Nondi is among the best central midfielders in the league so far.He has been trusted with a starting role in the team as his contributions can not be denied. The midfielder will be hoping to lift his first maiden league trophy with Dira Gori.
On the other side,Joseph Okumu joined Ayub Timbe in celebrating trophies in Europe. Timbe won the Thailand premiere league trophy a week ago,while Okumu won the league cup yesterday when his side KAA Gent edged out Underlecht in the penalties. The Kenyan joined the side last year from Swedish allavaskan side Elfsborg on a permanent deal. He has partnered well with Cameroonian defender Ngameleu Ngadjui in the central defence so far.
Kenyan players have been outstanding abroad this week,with the likes of Olunga scoring for their sides,Marjoleen Nekesa netted twice for her side while Masoud Juma featured for his Moroccan side Diffa Hassan El Jadida against JS Soualem.
Back in the country, FC Leopards were held to a 1.1 draw against Wazito while Nairobi City Stars beat Ulinzi Stars 1.0 to continue putting pressure on the league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz.
