Kenyan football footballers cannot stop going abroad and when they do, they are always making an impact on the leagues they join. Olunga made headlines with Kashiwa Reysol just like Wanyama did with Southampton before joining Tottenham.
It may be hard to track some of these players but of the latest players headed to greener pastures, Benson Omalla is one we need to watch closely. Omalla's story is impressive though still a teenager he has achieved alot, he has already played for Western Stima in KPL before Gor Mahia saw his qualities and signed him in 2020 (he was still in form 4 at Kisumu day)
Omalla's skills infront of goal made him so popular that football scouts took note of him and with time it was obvious he was going to make a big move. His move came sooner than expected, just after finishing his KCSE exam his doors to Europe have opened. Linkoping from Sweden have made an offer to sign Omalla on loan until the end of the year. The news of the move was authenticated by Lordvick Aduda (Gor's CEO).
Omalla's journey to Sweden is only a VISA, he is waiting for the Swedish embassy to clear his VISA before he jets to Sweden to begin his loan. It is only a loan transfer but with what Omalla has been doing infront of goal, if given enough game time they will for sure make the deal permanent.
