MOTHERWELL VS HEARTS.
The hosts are simply looking to finish the season on a positive note as their form has taken a dive in recent months. Graham Alexander’s men have managed to secure just four victories from their last 19 matches but one of those wins did come at the weekend as they narrowly defeated Ross County. They sit just a point behind fourth-placed Dundee United and whilst leapfrogging them is the aim, they’ll also be keen to avoid falling below Ross County in the league standings.
Although Celtic and Rangers have naturally dominated the division, Hearts have been one of the strongest and most consistent sides throughout the campaign. Their first season back in the top flight has been nothing short of spectacular. Maintaining their status as an SPL club might have been the aim but Hearts have certainly surpassed that by claiming 61 points from their 36 league matches and putting a 17-point gap between themselves and fourth place.
Hearts are guaranteed to take the third spot in the table and don’t have too much else to play for. However, Robbie Neilson won’t allow his side to take it easy and we expect them to at least get on the scoresheet here. The hosts have plenty left to play for and will make this competitive. We’ll plump for both sides hitting the back of the net here.
