Olympic tournament over for Dani Ceballos

Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos suffered a nasty ankle injury during Spain opening match vs Egypt in Olympic.


The midfielder was forced off after Taher Mohamed stood on his ankle during Spain vs Egypt where it ended in a goalless draw, Ceballos had a superb fast half performance.

Though he has shown confidence and optimism to recover quickly and continue with the tournament. He posted on his social media

"Yes sore.But with hope and enthusiasm of trying to do everything to return and continue helping my teammates in this Olympic games. "

The ex Arsenal midfielder was not the only player who got injured, Oscar Mingueza was forced off holding his thigh after trying to halt a counter attack.

There's a big doubt for Ceballos to continue with the tournament this is a huge blow for Spain's quest for an Olympic gold medal.

The 24 years old future at Real Madrid still hangs in the balance as he struggled in his second loan spell at Arsenal where he failed to register a single assist in 32 games last season.
