Omanyala was in one of the toughest Heat. The heat had a tense start that led to the disqualification of Nigeria,s fastest man.

The entire race had a total number of 8 heats with only the top three disqualifying for the Olympics 100 meters men semi-final.

Ferdinand Omanyala will now compete in the semi-finals that will take place on Sunday 1st August in Heat.

Another Kenyan athlete who impressed in a different race is Mary Moraa who came from the second last and improved to be the third in women 800 meters semi-final race heat 1 passing the fourth person just before she finished third qualifying her to the finals.

This comes just a few hours after Mark Otieno (Pictured Above) who was also to participate in the 100 meters race was disqualified after he tested positive for a banned substance called "Methasterone", an anabolic steroid.
