Cameroon Defeats Brazil In Their Group Match But They Do Not Proceed To The Round Of 16

FIFA <a class=World Cup 2022 Cameroon vs Brazil Highlights: Brazil top Group G despite losing 0-1 against Cameroon - The Times of India"/>

Cameroon upset Brazil on Day 13 of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, becoming the first African country to achieve it. The day was another loaded with shocking surprises for the football world.

Cameroon defeated Brazil by a score of 1-0, but Switzerland overcame Serbia in the group's second match, preventing Cameroon from moving on to the next round of the World Cup.

The victory belonged to Cameroon, who ended Brazil's unbeaten streak of 17 group games and became the first team to defeat the five-time champion in the World Cup group stage since Norway did it at the 1998 tournament in France, despite the fact that Brazil had already advanced and used mostly reserves on Friday night.

The victory; which was secured in the 92nd minute by a powerful header from Vincent Aboubakar of Cameroon, is the first time an African team has defeated the Brazilians at the World Cup.

Brazil and Switzerland tied for first place in Group H with six points each, although the South American team had a greater goal differential. Serbia finished with one point, whereas Cameroon earned four.

The Swiss will now play against Portugal in the Round of 16 while Brazil will now play South Korea.
