Kenyan international left back Erick Ouma alias Marcelo had his Swedish side play against Kalmar yesterday. The former Gor Mahia defender started for AIK as they held on to a 1-1 draw. Marcelo played for 74 minutes before being substituted.
It was Marcelo's 19th match for AIK, he has only missed a match due to suspension after receiving three back to back yellow cards.
AIK's goal came in the dying minutes of the match courtesy of Nabil Bahoui. The draw sets AIK level on points with Djugarden as reigning champions Malmo trail to the two joint leaders.
However, Harambee Stars Joseph Okumu was not present as his Belgian side KAA Gent drew 1-1 against 2017 Belgian Jupiler Pro League champions, Anderlecht.
Gent took an early lead in the match only for Vincent Kompany's side, Anderlecht to pull back the goal in the hour mark from the penalty spot.
Okumu allegedly missed the match due to the coach’s preference with Gent out of form, having failed to win any of their last three league games.
