Kenya under 23 Cecafa team travelled to Ethiopia on Wednesday for the group stage competition. The Kenya team is in group C of the three groups, A, B and C. Kenya opened the competition today against Djibouti as they await two more games in the knockout stage.
The team held their final training session on Tuesday 13, July 2021 with their Coach Stanley Okumbi finalising his selected team. Kenya is in the same group with Djibouti and south Sudan.
Kenya played their first group stage match today against Djibouti and come out as the winner with 3 goals to nil. This is a good start to the team with two more games remaining to advance to quarter final of the group stage.
Stanley Okumbi has congratulated his boys following the great performance today and encourage them to keep up with the same performance to the last minute. Group stage matches are expected to end on Thursday with qualified teams advancing to the next level.
