Early Goal For Harambee Stars in World Cup Qualifications Against Mali in Morocco Will Be Crucial

Harambee Stars team that is coached by Turkish Engin Firat will play a World Cup qualifier match against Mali in Morocco on Thursday. This is a must-win game for the Kenyan team given that it has drawn its first two matches against Uganda Cranes and Rwanda.

Firat named his final travelling squad today morning comprising of ten defenders,13 midfielders and three strikers.

In my view, an early goal from the Stars will be very important. This will put more pressure on the hosts and thereby commit more mistakes that will be an advantage to Harambee Stars to score more goals.

This might happen if he plays this line-up.

Goalkeeper, Ian Otieno. Defenders, Joseph Okumu, Joash Onyango, Eric Marcelo Ouma and Abud Omar.

Midfielders, Richard Odada, Lawrence Juma, Ismail Gonzalez and Kenneth Muguna.

Strikers, Michael Olunga and Eric Kapaito.

Richard Odada was instrumental in midfield here in Nairobi against Uganda. A combination with Ismail Gonzalez will stop Mali's plans in midfield.

Kenneth Muguna if pushed forward he can feed Olunga with fine passes that might result in goals. He is a good attacking midfielder.

Remember Mali is topping the group with four points. It won the first match against Rwanda and later drew with Uganda. Kenya follows in position two with two points.
