The English Premier League is set to resume this weekend with several matches to be played. Arsenal played their first English Premier League match last Friday and they surprisingly lost to newly promoted Brentford. They are currently 17th on the table. Well, the Gunners will be facing Chelsea this Sunday and Arsenal fans are in doubt if their club will win.
However, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said that fans should not criticize the club as they are doing. Arteta said during an interview that they are currently building the club and they need time before they make it to where the fans want them to be. According to Mikel Arteta, Arsenal fans should not judge him now, they should judge him after two to three years.
Here is what Mikel Arteta said according to Sky Sports:
"I totally agree that Arsenal should not accept mediocrity. I know that people have intentions to bury us and try to criticize us but it is nothing new and I am not interested in that. We need to put things into perspective because it's one day of Premier League football under incredible circumstances and we have the whole season ahead of us.
Maybe now is not the right time to look at everything because a lot of people are not interested in analysing what has happened. But in two or three years time when we look back with perspective, we will say, 'What happened makes a lot of sense'."
