Nuno Tavares
According to reliable sources, Olympique Marseille and Arsenal are no longer in contact over the potential transfer of Nuno Tavares on a loan deal. Apparently, the French outfit are now focused on signing RC Lens left back Jonathan Clauss who is headed for the final 13 months of his contract. Marseille have already opened talks with their French counterparts and by the looks of it, the deal will be completed in about a week’s time.
This now means that Tavares’ options for next season have now been narrowed to one club, Atalanta. The Italian giants reportedly made contact with Arsenal a few weeks ago over the possibility of signing the left back on a permanent deal but the talks broke down since Arteta does not want to permanently release the 23 year old. Since then, minimal contact has been the case but it is believed that Atalanta still want Tavares, but this time on loan terms.
Nicolas Pepe
Aston Villa have reportedly agreed to release prolific and highly talented winger Caney Chukwuemeka for a transfer fee of atleast €20 Million. The 20 year old has been on the radar of many clubs this summer and since he does not want to extend his contract next season, Aston Villa have thought it wise to release him as early as now so that they can atleast profit some money from his sale instead of losing him for free next season. Arsenal fans have urged Mikel Arteta to make a move on him, particularly as a replacement for Nicolas Pepe who is bound to leave the club this summer.
It is not clear whether Chukwuemeka wants to stay in the Premier League but a move to the Emirates will definitely be a big step up for him. His talent is highly appreciated by the fans and neutrals and that already guarantees him massive support incase he decides to join Arsenal ahead of next season.
