This year's afcon campaign concluded yesterday. The host nation, Cameron had crunched the third position after defeating Burkina faso on penalties on Saturday. Egypt and senagal were the two best teams in this years campaign.
The final was decided on penalties after both keepers put on a starring performance to keep a clean sheet for their team. Senegal emerged the winners of the competition. Egypt took a runners up medal. Sadio mane was awarded the player of the tournament award.
Chelsea's goalkeeper, edwourd mendy was awarded the goalkeeper of the tournament and also received his fifa mens best goalkeeper award yesterday. Vincent Abubakar was awarded the golden boot after scoring eight goals in the competition.
Senegal recorded their first ever afcon trophy in their history. Mohammed Salah only managed two goals and one assist through out the tournament. This is despite him been the premier league top scorer and arguably the best player in England.
Salah will link up with sadio mane at liverpool in the coming days.
