Chelsea: Tuchel Accepts Defeat, Ragnick to Target Werner, De Ligt Still a Target

Timo Werner

The appointment of Ralf Ragnick as the interim boss at Manchester United has caught the attention of many, especially those who are anticipating his next moves and plans to elevate Manchester United from their poor misery. One of the rumors regarding his reinforcement plans for the club is the signing of Timo Werner who has now fallen from football stardom. During his tenure at RB Leipzig, Ragnick considered Werner as his greatest asset and this saw the German striker thrive in the German Bundesliga.

Werner’s position at Chelsea is still uncertain as it has been noticed that Tuchel is more inclined on selecting Lukaku for the starting lineup. Ragnick will nonetheless have to proceed with his transfer plans with caution because making preconceived decisions could be detrimental to his status as Manchester United’s temporary boss.

Mattjhis De Ligt

Chelsea are still pursuant to Juventus center-back Mattjhis De Ligt who has been heavily tipped with a move away from the Italian club. Sources say that despite the ample gametime, De Ligt is dissatisfied with what the club has achieved ever since he joined three years ago. This report could be a huge boost to Chelsea since they are considered the most ambitious club in the English Premier League.

Following the departure of Kurt Zouma to West Ham United last summer, Chelsea have failed to properly replace the French man in the starting eleven and it is believed that if De Ligt is signed in January, then he will inherit Zouma’s place in the club. Amid all these rumors, it has not been officially confirmed by Juventus that Chelsea have made any sort of communication pertaining to De Lift’s probable transfer.

Disastrous Loss

Chelsea lost their top spot in the English Premier League standings after devastatingly losing to David Moyes' West Ham side in a thrilling 3-2 encounter. Goals from Bowen, Lanzini, and Musauku ensured that the Hammers secured all three points and extend their one-point lead in the league standings ahead of fifth-placed Arsenal. Thomas Tuchel acknowledged that the game was very technical and therefore hard and it was understandable to him that his side lost.
