Jimmy Carragher has claimed that he knew Cristiano Ronaldo's second spell would end in chaos. The pundits in many interviews have claimed that Ronaldo is past his best. The sentiments were ignored by ex-Manchester United Players. In the last couple of years, Ronaldo has evolved from a winger to a central striker. Some people feel that the legs are gone and he should retire. After the Portuguese star blasted Manchester united for not creating a winning formula, Carragher has said that Ronaldo is on self-destruct mode.
The remarks by the Portuguese star shocked the entire world due to his large following. There is a mixed reaction on the matter and that is what makes this discussion interesting. Although the former Liverpool defender was critical of Ronaldo's comments, he commended the Portuguese striker for not accepting the substitute role. He added that his legacy might be tainted but not ruined. When the dust settles people will remember Cristiano Ronaldo as probably one of the greatest players to ever set foot on a football pitch.
