Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale will now wear the coveted number 1 shirt . This comes just hours after Bernd Leno left the club for Fulham and therefore leaving the number 1 shirt free.
The gunners short stopper has been wearing the Number 32 shirt since he joined the gunners side at the beginning of last season from Sheffield United.
Though he forced his way into the first team almost immediately he joined displacing Bernd Leno, Leno still dawned the No.1 short until he left the club.
Ramsdale enjoyed a very successful debut for arsenal where he played 37 games and even received his first call up for the England national team. His arrival at the Emirates limited Bernd Leno to only start four matches for the club in the entire season. This prompted the German international to leave the club in search of regular first team football.
Bernd Leno was officially announced as a Fulham player on Tuesday afternoon, allowing Arsenal to announce that Ramsdale would take his predecessor's shirt number.
