Manchester United have been looking for a central defensive midfielder to fix their problems in the midfield and a solution seems to have been found as the attempts to sign Real Madrid star Casemiro have been successful.
Manchester United and Real Madrid have agreed on an initial €60m which could potentially rise to €70m as €10m add-ons have been included. Casemiro will sign for Man United on a four-year contract until June 2026 with an option for a further year.
So which jersey number could Casemiro wear after completing a move to Old Trafford? Here in this article, we will look at 4 possible shirt numbers he could wear at Man United. Let's see;
1. JERSEY NUMBER 14
This jersey number is currently being worn by Christian Eriksen but it is a dream jersey for Casemiro who has been wearing it at Real Madrid since joining them in 2015.
If an agreement can be reached, then Eriksen could possibly accept to take another jersey number and leave the 14 to Casemiro, the way Edinson Cavani took jersey 21 and allowed Cristiano Ronaldo to take jersey 7 from him when the later joined Man United from Juventus.
2. JERSEY NUMBER 15
The last player to wear jersey number 15 at Man United was Andreas Pereira who joined Fulham this summer transfer window. It has also been worn by legends such as Nemanja Vidic. Since it is a good one for a midfielder, then it is also among the potential shirt numbers that Casemiro could wear at Old Trafford.
3. JERSEY NUMBER 21
This jersey number is currently unoccupied at Manchester United following the departure of Edinson Cavani who was the last player to wear it. It is also a good jersey for a midfielder that Casemiro could choose to wear after completing a summer move to Manchester United.
4. JERSEY NUMBER 18
Bruno Fernandes was wearing this jersey number before switching to jersey number 8 after the departure of Juan Mata. It is another shirt number that Casemiro could be tempted to wear at Manchester United.
