The state of stadiums in Kenya is wanting. By now, each county should be having at least one well built stadium. Unfortunately the state of stadiums in the counties is not encouraging.
Most of the stadiums are bare earth, with very small parts covered by grass. When it rains, they are rendered unusable. We should separate training grounds from the main fields for matches.
The main fields should be used twice or thrice a week. This can be achieved by building extra fields and setting aside more training grounds. If we wish to hold any major events in future, we should start developing our facilities.
Now that we have Nyayo and Kasarani as the largest stadiums in the country, the government should build additional stadiums to promote football. We have many teams, and two major stadiums are not enough.
The more they are, the easier itis to maintain because they won't be overused for them to be renovated often. Stake holders, county governments, and the national government should agree and renovate the stadiums and if possible build new ones because the talents are there to be exploited. Itis for our own benefit.
