OFFICIAL: Newcastle Name New Permanent Manager After Sacking Steve Bruce

Newcastle United have confirmed Eddie Howe as their new manager following Steve Bruce's dismissal.

The former Bournemouth manager will succeed interim boss Greame Jones, who has done an outstanding job in the club's last three games.

Howe was in the stands for Newcastle United's most recent match against Brighton, and it was a near-certainty that he would join the Magpies.

Newcastle United issued an official statement on their website announcing Eddie Howe's hiring as the club's new manager.

"Newcastle United are happy to confirm Eddie Howe's appointment as the club's new head coach on a contract extension through summer 2024," the club stated.

"The 43-year-old arrives on Tyneside after leaving AFC Bournemouth last summer, after a great career with the Cherries as a player and manager."

Eddie remarked: "It is an incredible honor to be named head coach of a team of Newcastle United's magnitude and heritage. This is a moment of great pride for myself and my family.

"This is an incredible opportunity, but there is still much work ahead of us, and I am excited to go onto the training ground and begin working with the players.
