Eliud Kipchoge is the current record holder in marathon after he beat his own record. In a match that took place in Berlin, Eliud Kipchoge finished the race at a record time of 2:01:09.
As they say "hard work pays", the efforts that Kipchoge put in order to win the race has finaly paid him off.
According to reports from reputable source, Kipchoge will take home close to Ksh3 million for winning the race. However, he will also take home Ksh6.8 million for breaking the world record and Ksh4.1 million for the time bonus. This means that Eliud Kipchoge will take home approximately KSh 13.9 Million.
However, president William Ruto have sent him together with Mark Korir congratulatory message.
"The greatest has done it again; breaking the world record! Congratulations Eliud Kipchoge for winning the Berlin Marathon for the fourth time. You are truly the King of the Marathon. Well in Mark Korir for bagging Silver. #berlinmarathon #berlinlegend #worldrecord." William Ruto wrote on Facebook.
