Potter tried to salvage a point by bringing in Ziyech, Cucurella and Kai Havertz as substitutes for Mount, Hall & Broja but could not score the consolation goal. Newcastle United brought on Wilson, Murphy and Targett as substitutes for Wood, Willock and Botman who held on to seal a 1-0 win. Following the 1-0 win; Newcastle United climbed up to position 3 in the EPL table with 30 points while Chelsea dropped to position 8 with 21 points; 2 points below 5th placed Man United who plays Fulham on Sunday.
