6 European Clubs That Have Lost The First Two Champions League Group Stage Matches

UEFA Champions League second group matches were played Tuesday and Wednesday night. Manchester United and Liverpool are the only Premier League clubs that managed to win their second group matches against Villarreal and FC Porto. Manchester City and Chelsea lost to Paris Saint Germain and Juventus respectively. All the Premier League clubs still have higher chances of qualifying for the Round of 16 this season.

In this article am going to highlight six European clubs that have lost their first two group stage matches and have little chance of advancing to the next round this season.

The first team on this list is Barcelona, they have already conceded six goals against Bayern Munich and Benfica in the first two matches. Currently, they are at the bottom of the table of E with zero points. Barcelona will have to win the remaining matches for them to qualify for the next round.

Second, on the list is RB Leipzig which has lost against Manchester City and Club Brugge. Last season they managed to reach the round of 16 and we're knocked out of the competition by Liverpool. However, this season they have to work extra hard if they are to qualify for the next round.

In Group C, both Sporting Lisbon and Besiktas have lost against Borussia Dortmund and Ajax who are leading the table with six points each. Both Ajax and Dortmund have proven to toughest clubs in this group and have the highest chances of advancing to the round of 16.

Lastly, AC Milan and Malmo have also not won their first two group stage matches. AC Milan has lost against Liverpool and Atletico Madrid while Malmo has been beaten mercilessly by Juventus and Zenit in Group H.

The third match of the group stages will be played on October 19th and 20th.
