AFC Leopards are in safe hands in goal, as Ochan tips his talented successor to come in handy.

With the departures of Benjamin Ochan, John Oyemba, and Ezekiel Owade, AFC Leopards appeared to be doomed in their goalkeeping department this season, with only one goalkeeper, Maxwell Mulili, remaining in their ranks.

With no experience in top flight football, many questioned Mulili's ability to fill the void left by Benjamin Ochan, who was arguably the best player in the FKFPL last season. So far, so good for Mulili, who has a perfect league clean sheet record with AFC, who have already faced some of their toughest opponents, Tusker, the defending champions, and KCB (last weekend), the runners-up for the FKFPL title last season.

In an interview with Safari Soccer Show, Benjamin Ochan, who is currently with KCCA of Uganda, acknowledged Maxwell Mulili's impressive start as AFC Leopards number one: "In the past two seasons that I have been at AFC, the goalkeeping department has been top-notch. The guys were great, Oyemba is top-notch, Owade was top-notch, and Max was amazing. I think Max would be the first choice and all of us would follow because this boy is such a talent. I am so happy that Max is doing a good job but I am not surprised because he is in the good hands of coach Webo (Lawrence),"

In light of Ochan's revelation, AFC Leopards fans should not be concerned because they are in safe hands with Mulili at their goal. As they wait for FIFA to give them the green light to register new players, all they can do is look for a capable back up goalie to be used when Mulili is unable to play.
