Chelsea and Arsenal were in action yesterday at the Emirates stadium in a friendly match. Both team were looking forward to win by the end of the final whistle. The last time these two meet, the match ended 1-0 where the Gunners won.
This time Chelsea were looking forward to grab their first win against the gunners since last season, they were defeated twice. The match started with a lot of pace as both teams were so eager to open the scoring.
It was not until 31st minute when Kai Harvertz beat Leno and find the top corner to give his travelling side the lead. The host kept pressing until the 69th minute where Granit Xhaka header found the back of the net. Four minutes later, Arsenal defenders failed to clear the ball and Tammy Abraham punished them making the match to end 2-1.
In that match, one of the player who was on top form is Loftus-Cheek. He controlled the midfield so well and made sure it remained solid. He spent the whole of last season on loan at Fulham.
Loftus-Cheek is now back and his top performance yesterday proved he is ready to fight for his position next season. He has been so impressive since the beginning of the pre-season.
This now means next season, Loftus-Cheek could make Jorgihno to start from the bench since he has been on top form. He was one of the players who contributed to their victory against the Gunners yesterday.
