🚨DID YOU KNOW: In Ecuador's victory over Qatar, Kevin Rodriguez made his World Cup debut in the 90th minute. His story is pretty strange. Recently he was a player of Imbabura SC of the Ecuadorian second division. On 5th November 2022, he is called up by Equador Coach Gustavo Alfaro to play the friendly match against Iraq and also as part of the training group of the Ecuadorian national team. On 14th November 2022, he was included in the final list for the World Cup 2022. It was a surprise for all of Ecuador.
Equador Coach Gustavo Alfaro justified his call with this statement: "Every time I see Kevin, he reminds me of my fighting years, he reminds me of the years when I was in the Ascension. In a year, I travelled more than 44,000 kilometers by bus to play matches, and dreaming about my country's league football, not to mention a World Cup. It was in another dimension. But I'm for it, to give chances."
In life just like in football, you need that one person to give you the push you need to excel. A person who trusts your abilities.
