Sony sugar football club has been bought by kissi based entrepreneur and former Shabana chairman Paul Mayieko.
The club is understood to have been grappling with financial constraints after the taps of its sponsors - Sony Sugar Company Limited ran dry.
The new club manager and team manager is Mayieka and Hillary Ndemo respectively. Erick Muluku lands on organising secretarial post with Duke Momanyi as the secretary General. The Gusii Fc has also announced the new coach, Andrew Ongwae.
According to the Nation, the motive behind the new owner is the financial headache the club has been succumbed to.
We were unable to run the team from November 2019 due to financial challenges. At that period, we were forced to scale down most of our activities,” said Ligawa
