Phil Foden has grown tremendously under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola. The 22-year-old is one of the promising stars of his generation.
Being compared to mere a feat. Many have been compared to the Argentinian Maestro but none has ever surpassed his brilliance on the pitch. Currently, the Argentinian is on a roll with Argentina and PSG. With Argentina, he's on a 35-run unbeaten streak just 4 games away from beating the record held by Italy, 39. On the weekend he was on the scoresheet scoring a superb freekick days after he'd netted a curler for Argentina.
Messi's favorite manager and the one that made him blossom into the player he is today was Pep Guardiola. The two had quite a partnership that saw them win every possible trophy there is to win at the club level. Messi broke and set lots of records along the way, including his famous 91 goals in a calendar year.
However, Phil Foden under Pep Guardiola has managed to break one of Messi's records. Phil has become the youngest player to score 50 goals under Pep, being only 22 years and 127 days old. This is after Foden scored a magnificent hat-trick in the Manchester Derby. Messi achieved the same feat when he was 22 years and 162 years old.
It's evident Foden is a promising player and he deserves praise for beating the G.O.A.T. Nevertheless, at 22 also Messi won his first Ballon d'Or something Foden is yet to accomplish.
Do you think Phil will manage to win a Ballon d'Or before the end of his career? Leave your comments down below.
