Paris Saint Germaine have finally made the hard decision to keep Gianluigi Donnarumma and toss Keylor Navas. The year long rivalry has finally been settled and the club’s new manager Christophe Gatlier believes that Donnarumma has more to offer and learn since he is significantly younger and slightly better than Navas. Napoli have been deemed the favorites to sign the Costa Rican stopper but the deal is moving as slow as ever. Napoli’s former number one goalkeeper Alex Meret is raring for an away move and it is clear to all that Navas will succeed him at the club.
Manchester United are yet to sign Dean Henderson’s replacement and many are hoping that Ten Hag will consider Navas as the ideal stand-in. The combined experience of Navas and De Gea could help Manchester United a great deal this season especially when you consider just how weak Manchester United are defensively. The talks have not yet been initiated but many believe it is only a matter of time.
Borussia Dortmund recently completed their ninth signing of the season after completing the landmark signing of FC Koln talisman Anthony Modeste. The 34 year old signed a one year contract deal with the Black and Yellows as a temporary replacement for Sebastian Haller who will be out for several months after being diagnosed with a malignant testicular tumor. Modeste was very excited about joining Borussia Dortmund and admittedly stated that he looked forward to playing in the Champions League which has always been his ambition.
For a brief moment, the Red Devils were linked with the striker since some of the club’s scouts believed that he could sharpen the club’s attacking edge this season. Modeste never received a formal offer but it is understood that he constantly communicated with Manchester United representatives until he decided to join BVB. His age may not be ideal at the moment, but his quality on the pitch speaks volumes about what he can do to help the club.
