Nairobi City Stars alias Simba Wa Nairobi took to their Facebook account to confirm the appointment of the former AFC Leopards captain as the side's head coach. Muyoti who played 17 matches for the national team between 2001 and 2004 joins City Stars on a three-year deal.
He has had coaching spells with Kakamega Homeboyz and Thika United.
Former Nairobi City Stars player John Amboko - who has been in charge for the remaining part of the season after Bosnian coach Sanjin Alagic departed in July - will be Muyoti's assistant.
Nicholas Muyoti, 45 thanked the chair of Nairobi City Stars Jonathan for granting him the opportunity and for showing confidence in him.
Nairobi City Stars ended last season in position 7, one point more than defending champions Gor Mahia.
