Why Arsenal Will lose in Community Shield Crash against Liverpool as Referee is Appointed!

The 2020/21 season will kick start with Arsenal facing Liverpool in the Community Shield at Wembly Stadium.

Arsenal 2019/20 season ended in sparkles after beating Chelsea to lift the FA cup trophy. The Saturday match against Liverpool provides an opportunity for Arsenal to start the season with silverware.

The Gunners have a strong history with the Community Shield just like they do with the FA cup.

Arsenal have gone through to win the Community shield in all their last three encounters.

The last time Arsenal tasted defeat in the Community Shield was in 2005 when they faced Chelsea at Millennium Stadium.

The North London side therefore lost a Community Shield match at Wembley in 1993 against Manchester United.

However, the omens seem to be against the Arteta’s side as they face Liverpool on Saturday at Wembley for the Community Shield.

The appointment of Andre Marriner as the referee for the match could be perceived as a bad omen for Arsenal.

Marriner has officiated Arsenal’s past three matches in the last two seasons and Arsenal have failed to win all the three matches.

Last season, Marriner officiated Arsenal match against Liverpool in the Carabao cup where Arsenal lost to Liverpool in a penalty shootout.
