Paul Scholes Tells Erik Ten Hag One "Wrong Call" He Is Making With His Squad

Erik Ten Hag's Manchester United project is beginning to take shape. The Dutch tactician has a good idea of who his starting 11 will be by now. Sancho is unquestionably one of Ten Hag's "preferred eleven".

Paul Scholes appreciates Ten Hag's efforts to get the Englishman back to his best. However, the United Legend believes Ten Hag is using Sancho in the wrong position. Instead of being played as a winger, Scholes believes Sancho would thrive as a second striker or in an inverted attacking role. The legendary midfielder argues, "He’s better when he’s coming inside the pitch, when he’s linking with players.

"He doesn’t have that electrifying pace to go past someone on the outside or on the inside.

"When he was good at Dortmund, he had [Erling] Haaland to link with, [Achraf] Hakimi, he always had someone to link with."

On Sancho's role change and how Ten Hag can do so, Scholes adds, "If he can do that with Manchester United, if he can find Fernandes and Eriksen, really clever players to link with, he could be a good player for United."Do you buy Scholes' claim? And could that be how we get to see the best of Sancho in a Manchester United shirt?
