RANGERS V SLAVIA PRAGUE
Rangers may have had a hangover from their Premiership title celebrations last week, but earning a tie at Slavia Prague was a decent result and they can push on to complete the job at Ibrox.
Steven Gerrard’s side needed a great save from Allan McGregor to keep them level in the tie and they will be mindful that their opponents knocked Leicester out by winning 2-0 at the King Power in the last round.
However, the Gers should be well rested after a weekend off and can book their spot in the quarter-finals.
Prediction: Rangers win
MILAN V MANCHESTER UNITED
This Europa League last-16 tie lies in the balance after Simon Kjaer’s late first-leg equalizer for Milan at Old Trafford and the return looks set to be a tense affair.
United have not been beaten in their last 12 away matches, but a tie was the least the Italians deserved after having 15 goal attempts to the Red Devils’ seven, even if Harry Maguire did miss a gilt-edged opportunity to put Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side into a commanding position.
Milan had won just one of their last five home games before Sunday’s visit from Napoli, but they could be handed the bonus of a return for veteran striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who would provide his former teammates with a tough physical test.
While United’s away record has been impressive, not least when winning at Manchester City earlier this month, their matches on the road have hardly been goal-packed events and the tense nature of the tie suggests there may not be many goals in this one.
Prediction: under 3.5 goals
