Manchester united have started their pre season tour and the new boss from Ajax Amsterdam Erik ten Hag will have his first game with united against bitter rivals Liverpool.
On Friday afternoon noon, man united squad consisting of 31 players travelled from Manchester to Thailand ahead of their first pre season game against Liverpool on Tuesday.
The squad looks even weaker than the one their had in their last premier league match last season against Crystal Palace.
A good number of players such as Juan Mata, Paul Pogba,Edinson Cavani, Jesse Lingard and Nemanja Matic have left the club with the only new signing so far being Tyrell Malacia.
There are however returning loanees such as Antony Martial, Van de Beek and James Garner, these players however do not make them good enough as their fans would have hoped for.
United's main man Cristiano Ronaldo is also not in the squad due to personal reasons after reports that he desires to leave Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag would still try to choose the most powerful squad he can ahead of the game.
De gea is likely to start between the sticks behind a center back partnership of Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane.
Diogo Dalot is likely to start at right full back ahead of Wan Bissaka and Luke Shaw is the most likely player at the left back despite the arrival of Tyrell Malacia.
Van de Beek maybe given a second chance at United by his old boss but after failing on loan Everton, Scott McTominay may start ahead of him alongside Fred in the midfield with Bruno further forward in a modified 4-3-3 formation.
Erik ten Hag doesn't have many attacking options and may therefore pick either Marcus Rashford or Antony Martial to lead the lines and that would leave Elanga and Jadon Sancho to take up positions on the flanks.
Here is the likely line-up to face Liverpool: De Gea; Dalot, Maguire, Varane, Shaw; Fred, McTominay, Bruno Fernandes; Sancho, Rashford, Elanga.
