For an entertaining football match, many believe that there team scoring goals is an indication of a positive development in the team. A strikers work on the pitch is to score goals but that does not mean only the striker is allowed to score goals, the other players also have a free will to score. We have seen defenders like Sergio Ramos score goals and set records some strikers are still trying to set.
As Kenyans we may watch Sergio Ramos and argue that no Kenyan defender can score like him but what if I told you that we have an uprising defender scoring goals and defending like Sergio Ramos. Hassan Abdallah (24), a player for Bandari FC, is one defender who's luck infront of goal is every players wish. While playing as a defender Abdallah has already entered into the list of Kenyan goalscorers with more than 10, he has 12 goals for Harambee Stars. Many may imagine he started playing for Kenya years ago but he made is national team debut in 2019.
The 12 goals he has scored are not out of luck as when you look at his scoring frequency it is out of skill. In Kenya's last three matches Abdallah has managed to score a goal per match, that is he scored against Tanzania, Egypt and Togo respectively. It will not be wise to liken him to Sergio Ramos but Abdallah is really a force other nations will have to reckon with.
Apart from scoring for Kenya his defensive statistics are not bad and thus he is a player with a great future. If you did not know him, Hassan Abdallah, remember the name.
