In January, Anthony Martial packed his Man United bags and left for Sevilla on loan. Owing to reduced playing time, Martial decided to seek more playing time in Spain with Sevilla promising him a starting role. He made his debut during a 0-0 draw with and had a decent game. He was then in contention to start against Elche.
Martial lived up to the expectations as he gave a tremendous performance in front of the enthusiastic home fans. He also contributed to his first goal for the club. In the 75th minute, he spotted Rafa Mir and delivered a curving cross that was put behind the goalkeeper. His performance did not go unnoticed by the Sevilla fans. They gave him a standing ovation at the end of the game.
Martial's form could be pivotal for Sevilla's title challenge as they try to keep tabs with Real Madrid. They are now sitting in 2nd position 3 points from the league leaders.
