After the departures of Benjamin Ochan, Ezekiel Owade, and John Oyemba, AFC Leopards were left with no first-team goalkeeper and were forced to promote Maxwell Mulili from their junior team to take over the first-team goalkeeping duties.
Mulili was new, had no experience, and had no backup, so it was nearly impossible to believe that he would effectively play all of Ingwe's games this season. With this clear in mind, Ingwe signed Levis Opiyo, and despite making his debut in a 1-0 loss to Sofapaka prior to the league suspension, Opiyo is optimistic about the better fortunes that await Ingwe when the league resumes, as he revealed to Mozzart Sports.
"We are training together as a team, and we are using this time to gel together and get back to winning ways when the league resumes. We have a really young team that has a lot of talented youngsters. We have just been unable to crack how to get wins, but we are working on that because the boys are well up to the task, "
With four losses, a win, and a draw, can Ingwe turn things around? What chances do you give them to still have a productive season? Please leave your thoughts in the section below.
