Harambee stars may be forced to play without team captain Michael Ogada Olunga after the player misses two matches in Qatar. The striker picked a nasty injury in their first match of the season despite scoring twice. He is currently fighting to get back into action ahead of the World Cup double header against Mali. The newe comes at a time when Michael Olunga striker partner Masoud Juma was confirmed injured.
The only remaining established striker could be Eric Kapaito and Benson Omalla. Both players lack enough experience in the national team Harambee Stars .If Michael Olunga doesn't recover in time, then Engin Firat could be forced to turn his focus on UAE based striker Elvis Rupia to partner Eric Kapaito. Other strikers include Henry Mejja of AIK Sweden though he has not featured in the senior team so far.
