Mixed Reactions After Athlete Mary Moraa Was Admitted To The Kenya National Police Service

Amongst the 2610 officers who graduated and admitted to the Kenya National Police Service were some athletics stars. The pass out was held at the National Police College campus in Embakasi, Nairobi and the event was presided by the President of The Republic of Kenya, His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta.

Mary Moraa was among the athletes who were admitted to the police service unit. She gained popularity when she amongst other athletes led Team Kenya to win a medal at the World U-18 4×400 M mixed relays at the event held in Nairobi back in 2018. Mary Moraa has since represented Kenya in different events all over the world including the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Games but didn't go past the semi-finals in the 800M race. Mary is the 2021 Kip Keino Classic 800M Champion.

Kenyans were impressed when reports emerged that Mary Moraa had been admitted to the Police Service and heartly congratulated her. On the other hand, some Kenyans were confused as to whether Mary attended recruitment and was graduating or she just got admitted because she is an athlete. Read some of the comments in the screenshots attached.

Other young athletes who were admitted to the Service are: Rhonex Kipruto who is the 10KM world record holder, Wycliffe Kinyamal, Abraham Kibiwott, Vanice Kerubo and Michael Kibet.
