After a successful loan spell Dalot was handed an opportunity to challange Wan Bissaka who was unavailable due to disciplinary actions. The Portuguese however did not do much to prove himself. He was the weakest link in the Manchester United defence.

David De Gea was back at goal for Manchester United. The Spanish shot stopper was the one who was keeping the Spanish team out in the first half. De Gea was entirely responsible for keeping Manchester United in the game in the first half. His defence failed him terribly in the first half.

This is for Villarreal. They could have easily scored five goals in the first 40 minutes. DanJuma would have scored a hat trick in the first half. He was taking on and winning against Diogo Dalot everytime but he lacked the finishing touches. The Spanish team paid dearly for all the missed chances.

Cristiano Ronaldo won the game very late on for Manchester United. He now has two goals in two Champions League game so far.
6. Ole tactics paid off.
Ole has come under fire lately for bad tactics and making bad decisions. His decisions for tonight were spot on as his subs combined for the winner. Cavani was very lively for Manchester United and so was Lingard and Fred. All three players played a crucial role in the Cristiano Ronaldo goal. Lingard was the one who set up Ronaldo for the winner.
